The Storyline: Stranded and Cut Off
In this game, all the players reach the island by mistake or tragedy, leaving them unable to connect with the rest of the world. A player might land on the island because a cruise ship stopped there and left them behind, they got lost in a maze-like water system leading to boat destruction, or they accidentally took the wrong route during an adventure race. Once stranded, your primary objective is survival, followed by finding a way to escape.
Game Mechanics and Survival Strategy
This tabletop adventure is suitable for 2 to 4 players. To survive and maintain the necessary energy level to exist, a player must have sufficient food. The game board features an Energy Barrier that drains players’ energy, requiring them to spend a Food Card to cross and survive.
Crafting and Managing Resources
Players must roll a dice to move their tokens and collect raw island resources. By combining specific cards, you can craft Island Usage Cards vital for your survival:
- Combine the Island Grocery Card and the Fresh Water Card to earn a Food Card, which is used to maintain your energy level.
- Combine the Wooden Log Card and the Axe Tool Card to earn a Shelter Card. This card protects your collected resources when a Storm is triggered on the island.
- Combine the Bamboo Stick Card and the Island Rope Card to earn a Defence Card.
Challenges of the Island
As you explore, you will encounter various obstacles and native populations. The island is inhabited by Happy Natives, who will reward you with one Food Card to help you survive. However, you must also beware of Angry Natives, who will snatch your food unless you use a Defence Card to save it.
The board also features complex navigation mechanics. Players can utilize “Portals” to move deep inside the island or jump to the outside, and land on “Swap Places” to move to identical locations marked on the board.
How to Win: The Ultimate Escape
The ultimate aim of the game is to collect three similar Island Escape Cards scattered throughout the island. Players must gather either three Boat Escape Cards or three Seaplane Escape Cards to unlock their respective escape vehicle. Once a player collects these three identical keys, they must navigate toward the Mysterious Portal located in the center of the 3D elevation.
The first player to collect the correct combination and reach the Mysterious Portal wins the game!
